CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION
The Weslaco Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is under the
administration of Captain Gerardo Oliva. Captain Oliva oversees two (2) lieutenants, two (2) sergeants, and fifteen (15) sworn criminal investigators. The Criminal Investigation Division is directly responsible
for investigating criminal cases filed by the citizens and visitors of Weslaco. Additionally, they take a pro-active approach to pattern criminals, narcotic trafficking, and violent offenders.
- The CID Lieutenant is responsible for oversight of the CID Sergeant, Area Detectives, Major Crime Detective, Juvenile Crime Detective, and the Property & Evidence Detectives.
- The CID Sergeant reports directly to the CID Lieutenant and oversees the day-to-day efforts of the Area Detectives, Major Crime Detective, Juvenile Detective, and the Property & Evidence Detectives.
- The CID Sergeant reports directly to the CID Lieutenant and oversees the day-to-day efforts of the Area Detectives, Major Crime Detective, Juvenile Detective, and the Property & Evidence Detectives.
- The Organized Crime Lieutenant is responsible for oversight of the Targeted Response Unit/Narcotic Unit Sergeant.
- The Organized Crime Sergeant reports directly to the Organized Crime Lieutenant and oversees the day-to-day efforts of the Targeted Response Unit and the Narcotic Unit.
- The Targeted Response Unit Officers are responsible for responding to all recent crime hot spots providing the proper level of police coverage necessary to discourage any further criminal episodes.
- The Organized Crime Sergeant reports directly to the Organized Crime Lieutenant and oversees the day-to-day efforts of the Targeted Response Unit and the Narcotic Unit.
