The Department has six divisions: Planning & Zoning, Engineering, Building, Code Enforcement, Health and Animal Care Services. The department ensures compliance with ordinances and regulations.

PLANNING & CODE ENFORCEMENT //

Bio

Mardoqueo Hinojosa has been the Weslaco City Engineer since January 2013 and the Planning Director since February 2014. Mr. Hinojosa holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, a Texas Professional Engineer license and is a Certified Floodplain Manager. In addition, he has been practicing engineering for 10.5 years and has 4 years of local government experience. He has worked on multiple water resources and geotechnical projects in the private sector prior to 2013. Mr. Hinojosa has been a participant with American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Planning Association (APA), and Texas Floodplain Management Association (TFMA). He is married to his lovely wife, Vanessa and has one child – Enrique.
