The Weslaco Police Department Administrative staff consist of;

• Stephen Scot Mayer - Chief of Police,
  
  • Ted Walensky - Assistant Chief of Police, and
    
    • Roxanne Saavedra - Administrative Secretary. 
      

Assistant Chief Walensky and Chief Mayer are responsible for the ethical leadership of the Weslaco Police Department (WPD). They are strong leaders who daily demonstrate the communication and problem-solving skills required to effectively manage and lead a modern policing organization. Among other duties, they are responsible for setting the policing standard within the WPD, maintaining order and discipline, motivating staff to excel in their efforts, budgeting, resource management, and the hiring of police officers and civilian staff.  Both men take their responsibility to oversee and organize the agency quite seriously. They believe being a role model within the organization and for the community is an integral part of the job.

Administrative Secretary Roxanne Saavedra is responsible for managing the affairs of the Office of the Chief of Police.  She is responsible for the scheduling of appointments for both Assistant Chief Walensky and Chief Mayer.  Additionally, she handles all incoming phone calls as they relate to the Office of the Chief of Police.  Moreover, Ms. Saavedra is tasked with the responsibility of accounts payable.
