As one of the regions most progressive and pro-active EMS agencies, The Weslaco Fire Department response to over 6000 911 calls a year and treats and transports over 10,000 patients a year. Calls for service Ranging from Diabetic Complications, Heart Attacks, CVA/strokes, Trauma calls, and Critical Care Hospital to Hospital Transfers. With the increasing demand of a growing city and region, the demands on our Firefighter/Paramedics are also increasing. With our location in the Rio Grande Valley and the United States / Mexico Border Weslaco Fire Department Firefighter/Paramedics also respond to a International Bridge in care for international tourists visiting the US and Mexico.
